A Year‘s Harvest

An aperitif style spin on a French 75, which highlights the citrus heart of Tanqueray No. TEN, including notes of grapefruit, orange and chamomile and has a bright acidity.

Ingredients

  • 1oz.

    Tanqueray No. TEN

  • 1tsp

    Italian Bitter Liqueur

  • 0.5oz

    Lemon juice

  • 0.75oz

    Cranberry syrup*

  • 2oz

    Sparkling wine

  • 1

Method

  • Method
    1. In a shaker tin, combine all ingredients (except for the sparkling wine) with ice and shake hard.
    2. Pour approximately 2 oz of sparkling wine into a coupe glass, then fine strain the remaining cocktail from the tin over the sparkling wine.
    3. Garnish with an orange twist.

    *Cranberry Syrup

    1. In a saucepan, add 1 cup of cranberries and 1 cup of water and boil until the cranberries all lose their form and become mushy solids.
    2. Strain out the cranberry water and discard all solids.
    3. Using a scale, add an equal amount of white sugar to your cranberry water and return back into your saucepan.
    4. Add 1 cinnamon stick, 10 whole cloves, 1 star anise, 2 orange peels and 1 lemon peel.
    5. Heat on medium heat until all sugar has dissolved.
    6. Remove from heat, and allow to cool for 20 minutes.
    7. Strain out all spices from the syrup and store the syrup in a tempered vessel.
