Interesting facts
The earliest-published recipe that fits the ‘Blossom’ genre is from 1892, by William Scmidt.
History of the drink
The Orange Blossom cocktail is a classic drink that was created by bartender Frank Meier at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York City in the early 1900s. Meier named the cocktail after the hotel's signature flower, the orange blossom. The oriGinal recipe consisted of a simple combination of orange juice, orange blossom water and Gin, which proved to be a hit with the hotel's guests. The principles of Elemental Mixology maintain that a blossom is a mixed drink in which the strong element is modified by succulent (not primarily sour) juice. Blossoms are typically shaken and served straight up.
