Diageo Agrees the Sale of Pampero Rum
Details of the sale of Pampero Rum by Diageo to Gruppo Montenegro on 17th July 2024.
Diageo recently announced it has agreed the sale of Pampero Rum to Italian drinks company, Gruppo Montenegro.
Pampero was founded in Venezuela in the late 1930s and is the first Venezuelan rum to be aged for more than two years. Its expressions include Pampero Especial, Pampero Blanco and Ron Añejo Pampero™ Selección 1938.
Diageo’s President of Europe, John Kennedy, said: “The sale of Pampero Rum demonstrates our disciplined and strategic approach to capital allocation. It will allow us to concentrate on our portfolio’s core areas of strength”.

Following the sale, Diageo’s rum portfolio now consists of Captain Morgan, Zacapa, Bundaberg and Don Papa.
Bundaberg Rum
