What is WORLD CLASS?

This year 2024 we are celebrating 15 years of WORLD CLASS, an event that has been a major inspiration for people all over the world for the past one and a half decades, encouraging them to immerse themselves in the upscale drinking and cocktail culture and to consciously engage with the topic of Fine Drinking. This year marks a very special anniversary, appropriately honoring excellence in the world of beverage creation!

In addition to current trends, cocktail creations and drink recipes WORLD CLASS also provides essential news from the bar scene and takes part in shaping future drinking experiences. Meanwhile our international network consists of more than 400,000 bartenders, whom we actively support, promote and train.

Every year, the world's largest Bartender Competition brings together the most talented bartenders to crown the "WORLD CLASS Bartender of the Year", driven by our industry's extraordinary creativity and unparalleled sense of community. In around 60 nations, the best bartenders are selected in advance to then travel to the WORLD CLASS Global Finals to compete for the title, connect globally and share an unforgettable experience.

With its 15th anniversary, the WORLD CLASS Competition promises to be even more splendid. Get ready for another year filled with sophisticated drinks and innovative mixology.

A WORLD CLASS bartender is characterized by creative creations, in-depth knowledge of our WORLD CLASS brands and Fine Drinking, exceptional preparation techniques, hospitality, professionalism, and a commitment to continuous learning.

What defines a WORLD CLASS drink?

A WORLD CLASS drink is distinguished by innovative ingredients, creative presentation, meticulous balance, exceptional preparation techniques, inspiring stories and consistent quality. Such a cocktail embodies the best terms of creativity, quality and artisan craft.

COMPETITION ROADMAP GERMANY

February 27th - March 22th 2024
WORLD CLASS Online Entry Phase

You can only apply online. Submit a self-created drink in the period from February 27th, 2024, at 00:00 am to ends on March 22th, 2024 at 11:59 pm that incorporates one of the two Entry Challenges. Applications will only be considered if they are submitted within the specified timeframe and if you work as a bartender in Germany.

April 2nd - April 27th 2024
WORLD CLASS Semi Final

As one of the top bartenders from the applications, you will be judged by a WORLD CLASS juror during the Semi Final, a second judging phase: The In Bar Judging. During the period mentioned above, one of the WORLD CLASS jurors can drop by your bar at any time. Here you and your whole team performance will be tested.

Mix your WORLD CLASS Entry drink and promote WORLD CLASS and your drink offline and online (e.g. in your bar or via social media). After the judging has been completed, the best bartenders in Germany will be selected and invited to the WORLD CLASS National Final in June 2024.

Beginning of June 2024
WORLD CLASS National Final

At the WORLD CLASS National Final, the best bartenders will compete against each other for two days for the title of "WORLD CLASS Bartender of the Year 2024 Germany". This year, the final takes place in Berlin, the European hotspot for cultural and gastronomic trends.

September 09th - September 13th 2024
WORLD CLASS Global Final

In the WORLD CLASS Global Final, the best bartenders from more than 60 nations compete against each other. This year, for the first time we are heading to China, to its metropole Shanghai. Who knows, maybe you will win?!
